They were above phenomenal! I truly don’t have enough nice things to say about Matt, Miguel, and Bell. Their kindness was extraordinary, their work ethic was unreal and their care was top notch. Customer care is big for me and they over exceeded all expectations even in frustrating times! Everything was moved well, efficiently and with care.

Manuel and his team were fantastic! I highly recommend them. They were prompt and courteous and very pleasant. They helped with packing and were very thorough and took great care of all of my belongings. We had many large pieces of art, television, mirrors and they took great care in crating them. Thank you IMS!

I.M.S Relocation exceeded our expectations. Our furniture, stored for over 10 years, was in pristine condition, as if it had been dropped off yesterday. The secure, temperature-controlled storage at this location was the best decision we had made. Stephanie Miller was very professional and one of the most wonderful people we have ever worked with. She handled all paperwork efficiently, communicated effectively with us and with Valentine who handled our items at the warehouse, and treated us with the utmost care. Valentine, was equally impressive. He meticulously opened the pallets, performed an inventory audit, and expertly directed our movers.

IMS Relocation helped us move out while our home was under repair. They did a great job communicating our move out dates and what the process would entail. The movers that packed us and moved us were kind and professional. As our time to move back in neared, I called to schedule our move in cleaning, move, and unpacking, which take place over 3 days. I was given a 3 day date over the phone, but was sent no confirmation email. I either misheard and put the dates down wrong, or they told me the wrong dates, but either way, the cleaners showed up a day earlier than expected and the movers came a day late.

How it works

What happens after you reach out

  1. Set up a moving plan The customer describes what is moving and when, and IMS builds a customized plan.
  2. Meet with an estimator In person, on site or virtually, the estimator reviews packing, specialty items, loading, unloading, unpacking and storage and provides upfront, no-obligation pricing in writing.
  3. Sign and confirm The customer signs the contract and chooses a service date. No deposit is needed for domestic moves.
  4. The move Packing, loading, transport, unloading and unpacking by full-time IMS employees, with updates throughout.
  5. Follow-up IMS checks in after the move and says it will make it right if anything is not satisfactory.

In Mike's words

Situations Mike handles every week

The closing dates do not line up

Selling one home and moving into another rarely happens on the same day. IMS packs and loads once, holds everything in its own secure, climate-controlled Carrollton warehouse or in portable containers, and delivers when the new home is ready.

Moving to another state or overseas

As a Mayflower Transit and United Van Lines agent, IMS plans the move locally and moves it through a national network with more than 800 agents worldwide. International moves are backed by Federal Maritime Commission registration and customs broker status.

An office move that cannot shut the business down

IMS handles office and corporate relocations, hotels, labs and medical facilities, schools and restaurants. A moving coordinator plans the sequence so equipment and files are back in use with as little downtime as possible.

Art, pianos, lab equipment and other things that cannot just go in a box

Custom crating, fine art handling, equipment rigging and auto, boat and motorcycle transport are part of the specialized moving division, so fragile and oversized items get their own plan.

Not knowing what the move will cost

An IMS estimator reviews the move in person, on site or virtually and gives upfront, no-obligation pricing in writing that covers packing, loading, unloading, unpacking and storage. No deposit is required to schedule a domestic move.

FAQ

Questions people ask Mike

How far ahead should I book?

IMS recommends four to six weeks for a standard residential move and six to eight weeks for commercial and international moves. May through September is peak season, so book early.

Is there a deposit?

No deposit is needed to schedule a domestic move. If paying by credit card, the estimated cost is charged the business day before the move. Some international moves do require a deposit.

Are my belongings insured?

Yes. IMS is fully insured and licensed by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. The customer declares the value of the items and chooses a protection level, which appears on the estimate and bill of lading.

What if my new home is not ready?

IMS stores household and commercial goods in its 80,000-square-foot climate-controlled Carrollton warehouse or in portable storage containers, short or long term.

Can you move me to another state or overseas?

Yes. IMS is an agent for Mayflower Transit and United Van Lines, with Federal Maritime Commission registration and customs broker status for international moves, while the Carrollton team manages the job.
